Éfiro is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, and music producer who embodies the relentless pursuit of freedom.
I was honored to be invited to work in the visual identity for his latest music video—a collaboration with my talented friend Caio Kondo of Inary Type, who crafted the custom Éfiro typeface.
The song speaks to vulnerability and the quiet, often unrecognized strength that Black people are forced to cultivate.
Directed by the visionary Maví, with whom I've had the pleasure of working on other projects like Pulsante, this clip transforms the raw emotion of the lyrics into a vivid, soul-stirring experience. Maví captured the anguish of the song in every frame, using water—an ancient symbol of emotion—to represent the ever-present anxiety.
Éfiro moves through spaces adorned with iconic pieces of Brazilian design, while the thorns of roses—symbols of both beauty and pain—are woven into the custom typography that we designed for this project.
